Hello again! After my initial entry, I feel it's only fair to let you know what sort of content you can expect from this blog. This leads us to Confession #1.
Confession #1: I am obsessed with the Martha Stewart radio channel on Sirius satellite radio (channel 112 if you are so inclined). This means that you will be subjected to many posts beginning with, "On Martha today...," or "I heard the coolest/cutest/most interesting thing today...," so I apologize in advance. But for someone who is obsessed with learning new things all the time, this channel is amazing!
Speaking of the Martha Stewart channel, Martha's daughter Alexis has a blog, and she often blogs about what she is cooking, baking, or gifts that she is giving. I love the idea of sharing recipes (and food pictures), as well as discussing the other aspects of life. On that note, I will share the recipes for my famous steak salad and the pumpkin chocolate chip squares that I made this week...but you'll have to wait until Monday since I'm heading out of town for one of my dearest friend's wedding.
Confession #2: I have a crush on sweet potatoes. I know, it's weird. But, try this recipe this weekend. You'll love it, I promise.
Sweet Potato Fries
Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.
Cut one sweet potato into 1"x2" pieces (they'll look like steak fries).
Put the slices into a bag with 1 T. olive oil and shake the bag until completely covered.
Spread the pieces onto a baking sheet in a single layer and lightly salt with sea salt.
Bake for 30-40 minutes. You want the pieces to be brownish and tender--
they won't look or feel like steak fries.
Salt again to taste.
Enjoy!!
